   Meet Our Doctors!

Kathleen McBride
Dr. Kathleen McBride grew up in Whittier, CA before moving to Portland, Oregon to attend Lewis & Clark college. There she majored in biology, minored in chemistry and spent a semester abroad in Australia. Dr. McBride graduated with summa cum laude honors. After undergrad she worked as a molecular biology researcher for Oregon Health Sciences University studying the parasites that cause African Sleeping Sickness. From there Kathleen attended Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with magna cum laude honors. Following graduation, Dr. McBride completed a one year internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal where she received additional training. Dr. McBride’s special interest include internal medicine and endocrinology. Dr. McBride has 3 cats and 2 shelties.

Irv Ameti
Dr. Ameti is a California native. He holds 3 university degrees from the University of California Davis campus. These include a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science, a Masters of Science in Animal Science and a doctorate of veterinary medicine degree. Dr. Ameti has over 25 years of veterinary practice experience. His special interests include internal medicine, dermatology, ear disease and dentistry. Dr. Ameti resides in Long Beach and is married with 2 daughters, 2 cats and 1 dog.

Kelly Pai
Dr. Kelly Pai joined VCA Los Altos Animal Hospital in the year of 2008 after practicing 7 years in Pasadena, California area. She enjoys taking care of dogs, cats and some pocket pets like rabbits, hamsters and rats. Her special interests are in emergency medicine and surgery. Dr. Pai graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama in 2001. She shares a home with her husband and a Chihuahua mix named “Zu Zu”.

Marti Kaye
Dr. Marti Kaye is a Louisiana native who moved to southern California for the wonderful weather and beaches. She graduated from Louisiana State University where she received degrees in Bachelor of Sciences (1998), Masters in Animal Science (2000) and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (2004). Her professional interests are in internal medicine, dentistry and endocrinology. She belongs to the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association. She has 2 dogs, an older sheltie mix named Bonnie, and a younger terrier mix named Desi. She also fosters her sister’s cat who is currently deployed in the Navy.
